Customizing Keyboard Shortcuts in Final Cut Pro 5

"Hi! This is C.J. South representing expertvillage.com. In this clip, I am going to finish up talking about keyboard short cuts and customizing them. Now let me show you how to customize it. So let's say you are on shift control. So shift is highlighted and control is highlighted. Go ahead and unlock that keyboard. What this allows you to do is drag, click and drag any of these modifiers to any where you want. So I can move this, this selection here. This motion path favorite. I can move it to P or back to J or back to G and then to the right here up top, you can actually search for anything that you want. Any of these tools that correspond because here is all the tools. They are all just right here. So let's just go ahead and just type in the F key. You can see what is associated with your F key. Okay, find is. Then you have previous fit. So now let's say you want to fit to fill. You want to put that into keyboard slot. Let's do shift and option. So shift option and then drag this fit to fill and you just drop it right in. You can drop any of these in to any keyboard short cut that you want. It is totally and utterly up to you what you want to do and what you want to do with it. So it is extremely powerful. You can set this up to the point like I said you can just use the keyboard, strictly the keyboard. The only thing you might use the mouse for is shifting between windows but you can even use the keyboard for that too. "
