In this clip, I am going to continue talking about customizing your keyboard for short cuts. Notice up top you have tabs. The tab one right now is no modifier. A modifier is another key that you hold in conjunction with a number key or a letter key. Like shift for example. Shift is a modifier key, control is a modifier key, option is a modifier key, command is a modifier key and caps lock is also a modifier key. So up top we now have these different tabs for each different modifier keys. Whether it is command, shift, opt, control and you notice when you change these, all the keys on these tabs change. Basically what that says is when you hold this button and then click this letter or number, this is what will happen. So I'm on the shift tab. Everything here whatever F is or whatever G is. F is show master clip. That basically means I have to hold shift and then press F for that to take effect. Even in the tool tip, it shows you there. It's got the little upwards arrow which represents shift. By the way when you are doing tool tips, a lot of times you will see those little modifier icons and those are all labeled over here too. Like shift is your up arrow, control is a little kind of house top I guess you would say or upside down V. Option, I don't even know what that is and command is that kind of weird looking I don't know what it's called but its the command key. So that way you know. So when you pull up the tool tip, you will know which modifier corresponds to that tool. Now what you can also do is you can just click on your keyboard here. On this little cute graphical keyboard, you can click to view what the different modifiers are. Like I select shift so it shows me what a shift wants. Then if I click command, it will show me the shift and command one. Then I just click again to on selected so I can hold shift option, not really much in shift option but shift control. There are some controls in shift control there.
