"Hi! This is CJ South representing expertvillage.com, in this clip I’m going to finish up explaining the zooming controls in the timeline. Now you can also hold option and use the plus or minus keys, how this works is if you hold option and then hit minus it zooms out, you hit plus it zooms in but now it zooms in and zooms out from the play head, so if hit from holding option and I hit the plus key I’ll zoom in wherever my head play is at. Now if you have a clip selected instead of it zooming it in where the play head is it’ll zoom in where the selected clip is and if no clip is selected then it will zoom in on the play head. Now there is at the bottom here your tool bar for you know navigating from side to side between the timeline, they have little handles at the edge of each side here and these handles are another way to zoom, you click and hold and drag that inward you zoom in, you drag it outward you zoom out and that’ll zoom in and out on wherever your view is centered. Now let’s say for example you’re zoomed in and you only want to view more of what’s to the right you don’t want to zoom to the left, zoom out to the left because if you just click and hold one side both sides will move and it’ll just zoom out from the middle but if you hold the shift key and then just click and hold a single side, whatever side you move it will now see the left side stays put but now the right side is just zooming out for me, so that’s a nice little tool. And then next to this you have a zoom bar down here and this is basically the same thing it’s just you click and drag to the left you zoom in, click and drag to the right you zoom out so those are just a few ways that you can you know get around."
