"Hi! This is CJ South representing expertvillage.com, in this clip I’m going to explain zooming inside the timeline. Now I’ll show you how you can zoom inside of the timeline, there’s really a lot of different ways for zooming on footage and anywhere you want. The first is the zoom tool which is in the area as the scrub and the hand tool, you see you have minus and plus, we’re going to hit plus and the quick key for that is the Z key now when I click it just zooms in wherever I click that’s where it’ll zoom, click, zoom, click, zoom now if you want to zoom out you could come over here and you could click the minus or you could hit ZZ but really the easiest way is just hold the option key you’ll notice here when I hold the option key it switches to a minus, plus, hold option and then minus so you can just be zooming zoom, zoom, zoom and then hold your option key and then zoom, zoom out as much as you want. It works the same way too if you have the minus zoom selecting tool, you just hold option and it goes to plus so it just depends on what you do most, do you zoom out more or do you zoom in more. Now next you can click and drag with the zoom tool similar to how you click and drag with the pointer tool and make a box, you can do the same thing with the zoom tool so you’ll only zoom in a certain section, so I click and hold and drag you’ll notice this box it’s now selecting the certain clips, I let go it just zooms in on that specific location and I just zoom out again. Now a nice tool, let’s say you’re zoomed in really far you can hold shift Z, now what shift Z does is that brings your entire project into view like so, shift Z brings your entire project right into view no matter where you’re zoomed in at shift Z brings your project right into view and it expands your entire timeline, so it’s really nice when you just want to get a feel for where everything is on your project so let’s say I want to get to a specific section I can just shift Z, okay there it is and just zoom in right over there, shift Z okay here’s another section zoom in right down there, it’s a really handy tool."
