Video Transcript

"My name is Dan Kallenberger I am an instructor at a technical college teaching Visual Communications and Photoshop as well as other Adobe products, I am going to be showing you Photoshop CS2 today. We’re going to use the warp distort tool in Photoshop, it actually is part of a marquee tool that you need a selection and a new layer out of. So what we’re going to do is just show you how this tool will work with this image I’m going to copy and paste, I’m going to use the copy and the paste tool, paste that and then have a new layer. What this allows me to do when I do edit transform I can do a free transform which will give me my tools that I can rotate, scale and do those types of things with and it’s also the Ctrl T key but at once you get there there’s a warp tool that’s built into the new CS2 now it’s really powerful. What you can do is go between transform and warp and what you can do with this is you can pretty much have a free reign of how this image is distorted and you can imagine the uses that you can find with just having fun with family photos to making something appear like a flag and a flag waving if you wanted to do an invitation that way, any kind of designer would really enjoy this tool for the fact that of how much power this distort tool has and then you just click down on the check box to apply it. If I undo that I can show you that again in a different way you can actually be a lot more precise with it and drag corners in and you just see how powerful this tool can be if you need to warp something to make something fit, that is the warp distort tool."
