"What's up? My name is Darin. On behalf of Expert Village I'm going to show you guys how to create a song using Reason. Alright, so now that we've got the basics down for the main synthesizers I'm going to show you guys the effect synthesizers. This allows your sound to sound more edgy. So, this one right here I'm going to show you guys the Scream 4 distortion. This is a pretty cool thing, if you have like, you're laying out a guitar track you can like make the guitar sound in the nineteen and have it sound really distorted. Put the reverb on and it's pretty cool to use. But, what I have this one hooked up to since I produce trance music. I've hook up to a Subtractor. I have a high bass on it, a bass guitar. So, once we have that up I select the drop-down and I choose a Scream 4 distortion. Once I bring that up it will have this selector right next to it. You can choose anything from overdrive all the way to scream. There's also a button in the middle where it says cut. This allows it to chop the music, so if I didn't have the cut on and I choose a random button over with either if it's overdrive or feedback this is how it will sound. Now, if I have the cut on I can lower the high, put it high, lower the low, or raise the mid. Also, I can change the body of it as well. So, if I select body I can change the res, the scale, the auto, and the type. If I change the type. Also, I can change the auto as well which would sound like this. Or the scale or the res. So, pretty much you just play with it until you get that sound. Also, I have the browse folder down here that you can search through different types of distortions like warm saturations, instrument tweaks, fidelity, effects, and drum processing. So, just play around with this Scream 4. See what goes with it in your song."
