"DIXON GILLETTE: Welcome back to Expert Village, my name is Dixon Gillette and let's continue our tutorial on Microsoft Flight Simulator X. When beginning your approach decent, throttle back your power to 2100 RPM and set yourself for a decent of between 450 and 500 foot per minute descent rate. For the final approach, we're going to plan on a final descent to the runway for 65 knots with full flaps. The runway numbers are going to remain at a fixed point in your windscreen. You're essentially going to aim directly for the runway numbers. Bring your throttle back to 1500 RPM. Once you're close to the ground, go ahead and flare your aircraft by pulling back on the control stick lightly then bring the throttle back to idle. Let your aircraft settle down on its main gear and then it will touch down on its nose gear. Continue your rollout on the center line until the tower directs you to exit the runway. Once you've cleared the active runway, bring up your flaps and turn your landing lights off and you've completed your landing procedures for the Cessna 172."
