"In talking about self defense for kids, we have some extreme techniques that you'll need to use judgment insuring with your children. When you have an incident where they really feel threatened where there's really nothing else really that they can do except an extreme technique, these are some things that you do. The throat attack is one such a technique. It is a last resort type of technique that they need to know is there if they ever need to use it. Again, it's a last resort type of a thing. Let's use it from the frontal choke again. As I'm choked, I can decide which way to use this. I've got 2 different ways of attack here. I can use the knife edge of my hand and I could just attack the throat just like that. You're just going to up and under. Excuse me. You're going to go up and through this way, or you can make like a modified fist. Your knuckles are going to be exposed and you're just going to go straight up into the throat that way. That's going to cause a lot of damage to the throat area. It's going to disrupt their breathing. It'll definitely disrupt their whole body, their whole balance, giving you time to escape. Your goal of course is to keep yourself alive. A vital point to the throat is an extreme way to escape from a choke."
