"I'm going to be demonstrating the cradle hold with the baby doll here. The cradle hold is the common hold that most people are very familiar with, where the baby's head lays in the crook of your arm. This hold is not necessarily the best for a newborn, just because they're still learning how to latch properly and open their mouths wide enough. For babies whose mouths are opening really wide and latch on, no problem, this is probably a fine hold to use. But if your baby's mouth is open smaller, they seem to gum onto the breast, then you'll want to try the cross-cradle hold. But with the cradle hold, you're going to have your baby laying here, you're going to support your breast from underneath, and then as the baby opens his mouth, or her mouth, you're going to just bring him on, like this. And that is the cradle hold. It's very comfortable for mom, and comfortable for baby."
