Breastfeeding is the feeding of an infant or baby with milk from a woman's breasts. Babies have a sucking reflex that enables them to suck and swallow milk. With few exceptions, human breast milk is the best source of nourishment for babies. National governments and international organizations promote breastfeeding as the best method of feeding infants in their first two years and beyond. Most U.S. states now have breastfeeding laws, which allow a mother to breastfeed her baby anywhere she is allowed to be.

" Today I'm going to talk about basics of breastfeeding, to help you hopefully avoid some of the common problems that new mothers experience in early breast feeding. Some of the items that I'll be using to help demonstrate are the glider chair like this one, which really helps to get a proper positioning, which is very important to breast feeding. It's the key fundamental of breast feeding, is that mom is positioned properly. The other item that I'll be using is a nursing stool. And a nursing stool is very important because it also helps with breast feeding positioning for breast feeding, by keeping your knees at a 90 degree angle. You don't want to be sitting in your chair and having your feet and toes up like this and not be able to touch the floor properly. Some additional things that I'll be using that are very important to breast feeding success as well, are breast the nursing pillow such as this one, because it helps put the baby at proper height, right at the breast and gives your arms support as well. Another thing that I recommend when you're breast feeding is to have a nice swaddle blanket in case the baby's hands are flying all over the place. You can just quickly swaddle the baby to keep their hands out of the way of your breast. And lastly, the other thing I'll be showing you is how to nurse on a sofa. So, let's get started."
