How to Feed a Baby on a Hike

"Hi I'm Liz Hood on behalf of Expert Village and I'm going to be talking with you about how to take your baby out on a hike. Now as I'm sure we all know hungry babies do not make happy babies so you need to plan ahead for what they're going to eat, breast feeding babies that just kind of you really don't have to plan for that some much. Just make absolute sure that the mom gets more than enough nutrition and hydration so that she can make the breast milk without exerting here self to much. Because that in itself burns 500 to 800 calories a day just breast feeding that's not hiking or exerting yourself on top of that, now if your a bottle feeding mom like I was you also have choices in that category as well. They have many different kinds of formulas that are ready made ready to go already in a bottle I find that to be very helpful when taking a baby out on a hike because you don't have a chance to boil water to make the formula in the correct way out in the wilderness. Unless your camping overnight and have the facilities which to boil the water, this little guy is 7 months old so he is able to eat solids so I always keep some of these in the diaper bag along with this plastic disposable spoon. Now I reuse it if I was going to go out on a long hike I would take more than one obviously so that each one is clean when I need to use it, and just make sure that if you do use this kind of food or the ready made formula bottles to make sure that you keep it with you and dispose of it in one of the plastic bags that you have to dispose of other trash like dirty diapers. Don't leave it out for the animals to try and eat and you'll keep your baby fed and won't liter and everybody is happy."
