"Hi, I'm Liz Hood on behalf of Expert Village and right now I am going to be talking about crib and bassinet necessities. Now, one thing you need to make absolutley sure that you have, rather you have a crib or bassinet is make sure that you have a tight fitting sheet. Now, you don't want the baby to get tangled up or anything like that or the sheet to come loose or anything like that. Another important thing is to get some sort of water proof sheet if your mattress itself isn't water proof by itself. So that makes it just that much easier to clean. This little crib bumper is not actually necessary but if you do get one you need to make sure it has at least six little ties to kind of keep it attached to your crib slats. Now, you don't need to put anything in the actual crib itself. This mobile here is not actually necessary. I did find it to be very soothing for my own son for about the first five months or so. He is now about seven and a half months and can stand up so I actually have to take this down and store it somewhere because he is now at the age where he can pull on it and that kind of thing and that's just not very safe. Another thing that you can have is a blanket about three feet square like this is the perfect size to be able to wrap the baby up like a little baby burrito. The nurses did that at the hospital and it was very soothing thing for him and it really made him cry a little bit less when he was swaddled up so close and but once they get to the point where they are too active to be wrapped up like a little burrito you need to not put a blanket in the crib."
