"All right, now make sure you get all the things you need before the kids are around the table. It just keeps you organized and less fussing and less touching. All right, so you're gonna need a toaster oven and you need the toaster oven that goes like this. The vertical one will not work for this activity, trust me, you will see why later. We're gonna need some milk, some bread, and I like to use the lighter bread because the pattern comes through and you will be able to see the design. Then you will need some food color. You buy the food color in any baking aisle of the grocery store and then you're gonna need some cups of course and some spoons. I prefer small spoons. I found this little wooden spoon because one it is fun and two sometimes when the kids leave them in the cup after mixing it is less likely for the cup to spill over. So they are nice and light and easy to use. The last thing that we are gonna need too is paintbrushes to paint our bread. I prefer the ones that have a thicker handle because when kids are little the thinner ones are sometimes hard to grip and they will freak out, believe it or not. So get a thicker one, and you can find this in any drug store or hardware store. They are pretty cheap to find. My other tip is to have one paintbrush per child. It's a lot easier for everybody. The other trick too is don't pass out your items until the kids are ready to use them because you want the attention on you in showing them how things are gonna work and if you have the bread and the plate and you have the paintbrush. Oh, they are gonna be tapping and picking and eating and they won't see all the cool things that you're doing. And that is half the fun is having them learning how to make monster toast. Maybe on Mother's Day you will get some toast. All right, ready for the next step?"
