"Hi, I’m Samantha with Sharks and Minnows Swim School and I’m here to give you a couple of tips on how to help your child recover their breath on their own while they’re swimming. There’s two different ways that you can do this, one is called pop-up breathing and the other is roll over breathing. What we want to do is create a current and release your child into your current. Once they’re swimming for about 7 seconds, you’re going to reach out and gently pop them up using a couple of your fingers on their chest. After you pop them up, it’s important that you let them go immediately so that they can swim again. They’ll swim for 7 seconds you’ll pop them up, they’ll swim for 5 seconds you’ll pop them up again and then they’ll swim for 3 more seconds and you can pick them up. So I’ll demonstrate for you. Are you ready? 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, very good, high five and that’s pop-up breathing. "
