" Hi, my name is Ashley and I’m with Sharks and Minnows Swim School. I’d like to talk to you a little bit about pool safety and sun safety. Whether it’s a bright and sunny day out or there’s clouds you always want to make sure that you’re wearing sun block, you always have water, something to keep you hydrated and especially if you have young children you want to make sure that you protect their head, whether it be with a hat or sunscreen on their head, something to make sure that they’re always safe in the sun regardless of the weather. Along with pool safety I also want to make sure and make aware to you that there are different obstacles that come whether you’re at the pool or at the beach and you want to be aware of your surroundings. Especially at a home pool you want to make sure that there are no toys in or around the pool that children may get distracted and look for in the pool. You want to make sure that there’s nothing around the pool, if you have a pool fence that the children can use to climb the fence or open the fence with. And regarding sun safety you also want to make sure that the children have something that they can go under if it’s a really sunny day, whether it be an umbrella or a place where there’s shade, this way that they can get out of the sun if they need to.
