"Hi, this is Shanis Windland on behalf of Expert Village. In our video series on making your own baby food we're going to talk about how to make sweet potatoes for your baby. You can also use this recipe to make regular potatoes for your baby, or other big vegetables. The first thing that we have to do with sweet potatoes is, obviously, we wash them really well and then we peel the sweet potatoes. Then once the Sweet potato is peeled we chop it up into small pieces, and again, the smaller the pieces the better, because it takes less time to cook. I'm all about saving as much time while doing this as possible. So no particular way that you have to chop it. Cut it into three slices longways and then again down the center into small chunks. Now the sweet potato is added directly to the pot and then we are going to cover it with water. As you can see, I have the sweet potato completely covered in water. and I just add it to the stove and get it boiling until it is soft. So I came back to check on my sweet potatoes and it looks like they are boiling quite nicely they are really easy for me to put the fork through, so much that I can't really pick them up. So I think they are nice and done. I'm going to turn off the stove. Come back over here, and strain my sweet potatoes. Add the strained potatoes to the food processor. Add a little bit of water from cooking the sweet potatoes. "
