"Hi! This is Stacey from Expert Village. In this video clip, I will give you some ideas on how to use toys for ages 6 months and up. An idea to use is a ball for this age group. At this age the child usually is sitting up so a ball will provide them to practice on their balance. It provides eye hand coordination, gross motor skills and spatial awareness. Some ideas on how to use the ball is to just to roll it back and forth to them, to bounce it front of them. The child can even practice kicking it back and forth to improve on their balance and their motor skills. Another idea for this age is to use the stacking rings. They have many different kinds of rings that you can use. The rings provide eye hand coordination, fine motor skills, help them in problem solving as well as discriminate between size and shape. Some ideas on how to use the rings, is while they are sitting up you can show them how to take them off and put them back on to talk about the colors as well as the shape. This one also provides music."
