"Hi! This is Stacey from Expert Village. In this video clip, I will be talking about determining the age appropriateness of toys. When choosing a toy for your child, you need to see if it's appropriate for their age. Some things to consider is the size, the weight, if the item is too small. It also should allow the child to grow in different skill areas like language, emotional, social, and cognitive. One great thing that the toy manufactures is doing is providing an age on the box. On this box it has a warning there is a choking hazard for children for ages 3 years and younger not to play with this toy. For this particular toy, this campfire food set, is recommended for ages 3 and up. Obviously, for a toy like this you would not give it to an infant. You would give it to a child ages 3 years and up because they have the skills to play with this. It is not age appropriate to give this toy to an infant because they don't have the skills and they will not know how to use this toy. As well as the warning says, it could cause a choking hazard. "
