Video Transcript

"This is art at Northstar Montessori Preschool. This is our art easel and every day we let the children do painting activities or different activities at the easel. When we aren't using it, we put a poster of a famous artist. We change these out all the time so that they always have something beautiful to look at. When the children come to this area, they ask for paper and we give them paper, and they use an apron, so they're learning the skill of how to tie. We actually tie it in the front so they can see and watch us tie it, and they can untie it themselves when they're done. And we'd like for the children to just be creative in this area. We never tell them what to do. We always give them at least two choices in colors of paint or markers or whatever we happen to put out that day. So we think that art is a really important part of the child's education so we always make sure that we give them art every single day."
