" Hello! My name is Cindy Glover and on behalf of Expert Village.com, I am going to talk about what to look for when you tour a center. From your list of favorite centers, call and set appointments with the director to come in and take a tour of the facility. When you arrive, observe: Is this center clean? Does the staff treat you in a professional and friendly manner? Inquire about staff turnover. Do they have high turnover in staff or do they keep their teachers for a long period of time. If so, this will ensure you that your child will be in a happy, consistent environment. Are the teachers interacting with children as you observe the classrooms? Are the children happy, and are crying children being attended to? Are children actively involved in play and interacting with one another? Does the room look inviting, bright, and are there ample amounts of toys, books and materials for the number of the children in the classroom? Lastly, do playgrounds appear safe and well supervised?
