Video Transcript

"My name is Dr. Randall Hyde. On behalf of Expert Village I want to teach you something about controlling your emotions rather than letting your emotions control you. Your emotions don't come from the world around you. It comes from how you interpret the world around you; what you think, what you believe, your values, your explanations. The opposite of controlling your emotions is having your emotions control you. That's the definition of being erotic, that's not good. Be dedicated to reality and truth, Jesus said and you should know the truth and the truth should make you free. Buddha says, all human and happiness comes from not accepting reality squarely, exactly as it is. Not being able to accept reality creates suffering. It comes from negatively predicting the future, exaggerating the negative, making mountains out of mole hills. If you're going to be healthy, make mole hills out of mountains, things work out, they always work out. In fact some of your most traumatic moments in life will actually turn out to be some of your greatest moments in life."
