The Importance of Good Choices for Children

"My name is Dr. Randall Hyde. On behalf of Expert Village I would like to talk to you about a great concept. Choice is power. A good parent will focus on choices. They'll follow the choices in their children. We are responsible for our choices. Sometimes kids don't want to be responsible for their choices so they lie, they deny, they minimize, they blame, but the truth is they are always responsible. It is your job to hold them accountable and sometimes it's your consequence. Focus on choice with your children. Why did you choose to do that? Why did you choose to do this? And just be curious. Explain to them to practice being the kind of person they want to be right now. You as a parent be dedicated to the higher role. What's right? What's true? What's noble? What's good? Create your future through imagination, planning, and goal setting."
