"My name is Dr. Randall Hyde. On behalf of Expert Village I would like to talk to you about an important concept as you communicate with others and especially your children. What's important in communication is being understood and understanding. Well how are other people going to understand you if you are not completely transparent. There are 3 words that I really value when I'm communicating with someone and it is being honest, being open and being frank. In other words don't beat around the bush, tell it like it is, you know be gentle and kind but be honest. Tell it like it really is and share everything. Be transparent. People want to know you, if you think about all of the great people that have ever lived in this world, you will realize that every single one has met with violent opposition, criticism. You will also but it will be less if you're really genuine and open. That's where you can become safe. Because you might have an opinion and value it very much, but as you share that openly and honestly, you might learn something from the other person. You may change your mind. They will respect that because you will be a person of character because you will be open minded. "
