"Hi! I'm Karina Fraley for Expert Village, and today I'm giving you tips on how to baby proof your bedroom. Many children and baby's bedrooms have changing tables. There are some things that you're going to want to remember if you happen to have one in your bedroom or your baby's bedroom. The first thing is be sure that you always have a strap, a way to secure your child if you're going to be placing them on a changing table to change them. If you turn away for even a second, it's very easy for a child to roll over and fall off of a changing table. It's happen countless times and can really cause some serious injuries. Be sure that you go ahead and get something that has some sort of security belts, some sort of system on it, so your child is secure. You're also going to want to be sure that if you're buying something that's used that you check and see that it wasn't recalled at any point. You don't want to use a product with your child if it's been recalled. The other thing that you're going to want be aware of it what's above the changing table. Don't put anything above the changing table that can potentially fall on your child. Anything like these hooks, actually really need to be secured very well onto the wall, so that if anything is hanging off like this, that your baby doesn't yank on it hard enough and pull it down. It can hit them in the face or anywhere on the body and cause at least minor injuries. You really want to stay away from anything that isn’t secured very well over the changing table, and the same goes for a crib or a bed."
