Today I'm giving you some tips on how to baby proof your house. A very important thing to remember is again, how mobile and how resourceful children are. Anywhere from crawlers to toddlers to even children that are a little bit older can get into mischief quicker than you can even imagine. If they see something that interest them, don't ever underestimate the resourcefulness of a young child. They will find a way to pull something over to where they want to get that they can actually climb onto and use to hoist themselves up. One of the great dangers in a kitchen are pot handles. Countless children are burned every year in accidents in the kitchen with hot liquids. Leaving a pot handle out like this is just asking for trouble if you have children in your house. A child can very quickly run in and see just the handle. They don't even see the pot and really probably at any age when they're too young to understand, they can still actually go ahead and grab the pot handle and pull it down on themselves. There's obviously the burning factor to deal with. Even if there's nothing. Even if this were an empty pot and there was no water in there, nothing in there, if a child a pulls this down on themselves, this is a very heavy pot. This can also fall on them, cut them. It's glass. You really don't ever want to leave a pot handle out so a child can even think that there might be something interesting about it. That's just another tip to help keep your children safe in the kitchen.
