"Hi! I'm Karina Fraley for Expert Village, and today I'm giving you advice for baby proofing your bedroom. These curtains are very lovely. They're decorative. However, they actually pose a hazard for a toddler or a crawler. They are actually just hanging on a tension rod that is just mounted onto here. Again, just as a tension rod. It's not secured with any sort of screws, nails, or any brackets. What can potentially happen is that a child can start crawling and start using this to hoist themselves us. When enough pressure is applied, even if it takes a certain amount of time, over time, you can actually loosen the grip and the whole rod, which happens to be very heavy, can come right down on a child and cause any sort of injury. Head injury or any part of the body. With something like this, you're going to want to be sure that you secure any sort of curtain rod very tightly onto the wall so that a child who pulls on it is not going to have it come tumbling down on them."
