"Hi, I'm Karina Fraley for Expert Village and we're talking about different ways to help keep our family safe at theme parks. One of the things that is really important for a parent to understand is there are many many dangers at a theme park. As fun as they can be and really as exciting places as they are for kids, it's really not a place where you can just let your child run wild, unsupervised while you go off and do your thing. You really need to attend to younger children. And if your children are older and they do have, you know, some sort of leeway of going off by themselves or obviously with their siblings or friends for a bit, you really should at the very minimum, check in via cell phone at some point, you know, a couple of hours into it, or maybe meet up for lunch. That's kind of the best way to sort of check in and see how everybody is doing and make sure that your child isn't needing help for any sort of illness, if they've gotten sick or if they've hurt themselves. It really is a good policy to have a plan in place where you meet up, even if your child is old enough to go off on their own for a while. But definitely, don't ever consider a place like a theme park a defacto babysitter because it certainly is not and there are many things that can happen to your child when left unsupervised."
