"Hi, I'm Karina Fraley for Expert Village and we're talking about different ways that we can help keep our family safe at theme parks. One of the things that you're going to want to be very aware of is any sort of dietary restrictions or medical needs that your child may have. If you have any sort of food allergies, you really want to be sure that you are very aware of what your child is eating at a theme park. There are very many delicious treats, lots of street vendors and if your child wanders off, separates from you, even if it was a planned separation where they get to wander off a little bit by themselves and then they meet up with you later, you need to be sure that you tell your child, remind them of their food allergies and that they are not to eat anything that they could potentially be allergic to and that would be anything that they don't have a list of ingredients to read off of. I would always error on the side of caution and say that your child cannot eat anything that you have not approved of and that if they see something along their way that looks appealing to them and they would like to try it, that they should just wait until they meet up with you again and you're reunited and can check the ingredients for them. Also, always be sure that you carry any sort of Epinepherin, Benadryl, any sort of medicines that your child is going to need in case of an allergic reaction. And make yourself aware of the policies for food allergies that parks have. Many parks have special guidelines in place and actually have special menus for their guests with food allergies so they're worth looking into."
