"Hi we're Dan and Judy on behalf of expert village and this segment we are going to talk about how to find the best, what is the best seat for my baby? We are often asked what is the best seat for my child? And the answer we give those parents is the child safety seat that fits your child, that fits your vehilcle that you can use correctly everytime. When we are talking about what fits your child we have some very fluffy little 747s in this country, cause they are very well fed, and we want to make sure this seat fits them! Some children are very thin and very tall, and some are premies and they are very tiny. This seat is good for premies because it starts at 4 pounds and has very low harness slought heights which we will talk about later in a later segment. But it is very important that your seat fit your baby. The second thing is, fitting your vehicle. Our SUVs today are usually easy to fit a child safety seat in. The vehilcles that are not, are smaller subcompact cars where some of the handles, like this handle here, tilts up and back. Some handles are not close to the shell and they stick up here and some of the manufactureres say that the handle has to be all the way down in this position for vehicle use, and it won't lock because of where the front seats are or the center console from the front seats. That seat would not fit that vehicle. So its very important that the seat fit in the vehicle as well. One of the things that makes it very easy for the parent to use the seat is this front adjust. And most all the seats we have here today, we're going to show you. But in order tighten the harness strap with a front adjust all you do is pull the strap one time, like that, and it snugs it down on the baby. There are some seats out there that have what they call a rear adjust, its not as common, but they are still out there. And they adjust from the back. And instead of these being here, they would be lose and you would have to do them from here. They are very hard to use and very commonly misused, almost 99.9 percent of the time they are misused. So front adjust are certainly easier . And that is one of the ways that it makes it easier for you to use the seat."
