"Okay, something that really should happen in groups but is oftentimes overlooked--that's what I'm going to talk about now. We've already established as we've put our group members together that we want the optimum number of members with the most diversity. We should, as a group, value those individual differences. Like I said, if you put everybody in a group that thinks the same, that reacts the same, you won't have as interesting of a makeup of a group, and you might not be able to come up with as interesting of a proposal or a solution to your problem. But by having people that vary, that are different, that are diverse, you must, like I said, value them because if you don't, and maybe anyway, conflict will arise. But especially if you don't value the differences. And when conflict arises, you must confront it. One of the worst things that can happen in groups--and I've seen it over and over--is there's a problem. And everybody either acts like it doesn't exist or refuses to address it. And it gets worse, and it gets worse, and it gets worse, to the point where I have seen group members walk off a project and receive an F for a grade because the conflict was so bad. So, we're going to talk about it a little bit later on, but value that diversity, and take care of the conflict. Confront it."
