"Probably the main reason that we need to be organized and we need to keep all those other things out of our presentation or report, or paper, is poorly organized messages are very difficult for the reader to follow, for the reader to grasp, for the listener to follow. We talked about this a little bit, but what will happen is if your presentation is not organized and easy to follow, the reader's going to lose interest, the listener's lose interest. And everything we do, we do it for a purpose. Even if it is an informative speech, our purpose is to inform. But, it might be a business transaction, it might be that you're doing this for a grade. Whatever it is, there is something you're going to get for it. If your reader gives up half way through, or your listener gives up half way through, you are not going to get what it is you wanted. What it is you needed, what the purpose of this whole thing was. It is a waste of time for you and your reader if you're message is unorganized."
