"So it's time for activities. You can have lots of fun when you are doing activities. I thought about face painting or arts and crafts or storytelling. With face painting make sure you've got lots of water available to you because you are going to need to wash those brushes out. There is also always a stream of children waiting their turn. So you are going to be needed to be really prepared. You need a table, a chair, a chair for the little child to sit on. Maybe some examples from books or you've printed off the internet for children to choose from. It's quite likely some child is going to come up and ask you for something completely bizarre. Try and be a little flexible. Say well, we can make such and such instead. Which is pretty close to what they've asked for. And is going to look very nice when you finished it. In terms of arts and crafts, you could cut out some card board stars and stick them together to make little wands. Children like gluing and sticking and painting, so buy a few of those items. In storytelling, it's a great way to calm the children down. They're exciting and you really don't know how to control them any longer. Sit them down, tell them you've got a fabulous story you want to tell them. And try and bring it alive with props and your imagination. I'll give you an example. I brought here some card board faces. See, you put it up to your face and instantly you become one of the seven dwarfs. This is Grumpy, he's, he's really bad tempered. All of done, is taken a basic picture from a story book and enlarged it to stuck it on the card board. And you can turn him that way around. And get the children to color its body in with pencil coloring crayons. If you don't want to use these, just tell the story. Leave a gap and let the children fill in. So and such and such and such happened and then. And the children will straight away tell you, they'll feel involved. So be creative have fun. It's activity time."
