"OK, the next thing I want to talk about is something that you really need to do, and you know, if you're planning to drink on New Year's Eve you probably should do this before you drink. Even though the speech itself is going to be very, very short, or reasonably short, you still should rehearse. Impromptu speeches are difficult, but impromptu speeches if you're inebriated could be a recipe for disaster. So, think about, ahead of time, what is it that you want to say. You know, you're only coming up with four, five, six lines, a couple of minutes of dialog, but what is it that you want to propose in this toast. You know, and practice it. Practice saying it, practice, OK, I'm going to say this line, this line, this line, and then I'm going to do the toast, and then I'm going to say one more line. Or whatever it is. Say it over several time, maybe you look in the mirror, maybe you try it out in front of someone else, but go ahead and rehearse the speech so that you feel more comfortable when you give it and you remember it and you know it if you happen to be a little inebriated."
