"This is Dan Kelly with Keller Williams Realty here in Miami Shores, Florida. I'm with the Kelly White Team, and today we're going to tell you how to buy a house. The question always comes up, do I need a realtor? Can I do it myself? Well, being a realtor, I'm going to say yes, you need a realtor, but to be honest, you don't always need a realtor. I'm going to tell you why you should use a realtor. A lot of times, buyers get really excited and they want to run around and they want find a house themselves, so they go into an open house. They meet an agent at the open house and the agent shows them the house and they love it and he does a great job, so they might enter into a contract with that agent. The downside of that is that agent is actually hired by the seller, so I believe that that agent is going to be watching over the seller's best interests when he should be watching your best interests, and he's not because the seller is his client. He's paying him this commission, so I think it's really important that you have someone on your side, so please get a realtor that you like, that you trust who is going to go to bat for you, so get a realtor."
