" Hi my name is Frank Clarke with Oliver and Associates Realty in London Ontario on behalf of expertvillage.com. I would like to speak with you briefly about hallways, entrances, staircases, etc. for the purposes of selling your home. Please be sure the hallways and the staircases have cleared are cleared of all clutter. Some people like to put big plants and things like that on landings of staircases I don't recommend it. When a family comes in to look at a home they would possibly have there children with them and the real estate agent with them you would get 3,4, or 5 people going up a staircase. You would get one person going up and another person coming down you don't want to have things on the staircase that they may trip over first of all or that would make the staircase look unclosed or cluttered. I highly suggest that you do something like this in your front entrance way. If you have a little alcove, a little plant, a mirror to make this space seem brighter that is kind of nice on a wall. So those corny little decorating tips are something that you would want to look into doing for yourself and for that home. Here you could have a nice long runner. A long runner would end elongate the hall way if you wanted to make your hallway to look longer. In this case we have a brand new ceramic tile. This ceramic tile doesn't really need to be cover. I think that what we are doing is showing off the fact that we have a nice neutral ceramic tile. Now in a staircase like this if you are fortunately enough you don't want anything on the stairs like I mention. When you have a family it is not uncommon to have a pair of shoes or some laundry piled up on the steps waiting to go up, a basket, etc, here we have cleared the stairway completely. Make sure that the runners of your stairs are cleaned and polish and make sure that your carpet of course is vacuum as well. What you want to do is really be sure that this area is bright. This is the entrance of the home, this is the place where people want to feel welcome, the first impression is at the front door and you would never get a second chance to making that first impression we all heard that before."
