"Hi, this is Jim Goettler with Expert Village. This is a video about how to form and operate a non-profit organization. Well for the past year or so you've been slowly organizing, getting your board together, getting your budgets and mission statement together. You've been doing your outreach and started to do a bit of fundraising at least. Now it's time to file your 1023 or your actual application to become a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, under the laws of the IRS. It's a pretty straight forward document, we're going to slide as I talk so you can see what the front cover of the application looks like. The two hardest parts, probably for most organizations are one, the financial projections, which is saying, well I've been in existence for one year but here is where I expect to be in five years. "
