One of the more important parts of your recording keeping, is the simple fact that the IRS is more concerned with how you maintain your funds than the mission of your organization so it is essential that you keep all records, all your expenses, all the debts that you incur as an organization in a clear and concise manner. There are a number pieces of software that we use all the time. I recommend using those so that your record keeping is absolutely stellar. Many new organizations do non-profits get often into difficulty because they forget to maintain good records throughout the process.
