"Another tip I'd like to share with you, for communicating with people from other cultures, kind of goes with the last clip we talked about "Checking for Comprehension". And that's a really good idea, but there's something else that's a good idea, and it's similar to what we do in writing, let the person know what's coming up next. Now, you don't have to restate this over and over, it's not like every two sentences you're going to tell them what you're going to tell them, but basically think of it like being a "tour guide", especially in business transactions, "Okay, we've talked about the financing, now let's talk about the marketing", or, "Okay, we've established that Jim is going to fly over for three months to work in the R and D department, now we need to talk about who's going to come over here and work". Just those little "guides", if you will, that's what I like to call them, helps someone from a different culture keep up. Sometimes, we tend to communicate very quickly because we know what we're thinking. And so, we need to help them along, help them stay with us through the communication process."
