Retirement Speeches: Family Support

"Ok you've talked about yourself, you've talked about the company, you've talked about the people that you work for. Now it's time to briefly mention if it's appropriate and what I mean by appropriate is not if you're going to offend anybody but if it exists. Now is the time you want to talk about the family that has supported you all these years. Now I don't mean financially supported you but I mean has emotionally supported you and been supportive of your working career and your position of employment at this particular place. We might be talking about a partner or a wife or a husband or children or grandchildren. Maybe you traveled a lot in this position and so you want to give a special thanks to the wife and the children who were so supportive when you had to be in India three months out of the year and Taiwan for four weeks out of the year or whatever it is. This is the moment where if those people exist in your life, you definitely want to give them a thank you because they might be at the party, it's highly probable that they have been invited, and I know they would appreciate your thank you for all their support over the years too."
