"It is important that as you prepare your speech or even when you're delivering your speech and maybe you're giving a little bit of impromptu, some of your speech is impromptu, either way it is very important that you focus on similarities rather than differences. Build your speech, build your persuasion, build everything you're going to say on commonalities. Yeah, if they're a hostile audience, you guys probably have some differences. Don't spend your speech focusing on the differences. I like oranges, you like apples. Find the things that are the same. You see we both like fruit. I like oranges, you like apples but they're still fruit. Because people can relate to a common bond. People can be persuaded by a common bond. So even though you know they're unwilling, you know they're hostile, focus on what it is you have in common."
