Retirement Speeches: Life at the Company

"Ok the next thing that you're going to do after your attention getter is you're going to talk about... let's call this life at the company; alright. Most likely in a retirement speech, a retirement situation you have probably worked at this particular establishment for quite some time. So we want to take a minute to reflect on the changes that have accord with you and the company threw over the years. You might mention 25 years ago, or 35 years ago or 45 years ago I remember there was just three of us answering phones in a mobile home and now look at where we are today. Talk about how the company has evolved over the years and your evolution process with it. You can also talk about routines and practices from the past back then and now. "You know boy, I remember when I had to answer the phones; file the claims and go out and meet the customers as well". "And now you know today I just have to get on my computer", alright. So you want to talk about again progression. And these can be done with humor. Now I don't want to scare you by telling you if you're not funny, don't be. Humor in this sense is a little bit different. That's more like being light hearted, you've had some fun times over the years at this job and those might be the moments that you want to bring up, especially in your compare contrast."
