Video Transcript

"Hi there, I'm Tracy Goodwin and I'm the Red Sweater Lady. And today we're going to be talking about how to give a speech, or how to deal with giving a speech, when you have an unwilling audience. And what are we talking about when we're talking about unwilling? Well, primarily we're talking about, before you have even said a word, they are unwilling to hear what you have to say. They could be a hostile audience, they could, maybe you're a Democrat and they're a Republican. Maybe you are an animal rights activist, and they're not. Maybe you are a cattle rancher, and they're animal rights activists. Whatever it is, there is already a negative feeling about your audience, and you as the speaker. Now this is not a huge deal. The only thing that has to happen is you need to have the right tips and guidelines to adapt your speech and what you do as a presenter so that you can get this unwilling audience on your side."
