How to Cook in Jail

"What's up? My name is Natural and I'm here on behalf of Expert Village to discuss how to survive in prison. In this clip I will be discussing something that people on the street take for granted everyday but I tell you it's a necessity when you want to survive the prison system. You have to learn how to cook. When I say learn how to cook, I'm not talking about working with like the gas or electric stove or something really fancy or anything like that. You have to learn how to cook in a microwave. In the prison system it is amazing to watch women layout meals through just using a microwave. I know that during the holidays particularly somehow or another they manage to get whole hams and stuff from central food service and all the sudden you've got a whole feast laid out where people come up with recipes and ways to work around not having a stove. You just have to know how to cook. Otherwise you'll be subjective to eating all prison food which is kind of a dangerous thing. Prison food is extremely high in carbohydrate contents, it's very starchy, it's very fattening, it gives you an essential feeling of fullness and they have to feed it to us in order to make sure that you don't emaciate in ways to weigh on them and complain on being hungry all the time. That will cause problems for the institution itself. So a lot of the food that they serve is very, it's very unhealthy, it's not necessarily what you'll be eating on a daily basis on the streets and if you did you would expect to be extremely unhealthy or overweight as a result of it. So it's necessary to learn how to cook to make use of the food that you may purchase in commissary or be able to get from CFS and learn how to throw down with the microwave."
