"What's up? My name is Natural and I'm here on behalf of Expert Village to discuss how to survive in prison. So forward moving, being progressive with your life. They do offer GED classes and an opportunity to get your GED. They offer college courses in many of the prison institutions and there are certain qualifications to make sure that you can get into those programs. If you don't meet those qualifications, there is plenty of education outside of that. I know that when I was incarcerated I was able to take an American sign language course. I took a crocheting class. I also took a smoking session class and a breathing and relaxation technique class. You get certificates for all of these classes. If you happen to be an individual that is trying to be paroled or looking for some sort of conditional release; all of these things can benefit you. They show that the system itself, that you are basically trying to make a change in your life, that you're trying to continue moving forward and not continue in the lifestyle that may have landed you in prison to begin with. But the education system there is imperative to be taken advantage of. If you would like to survive, generally survive the prison experience, you can continue to educate yourself. I think that that is very necessary."
