"What's up? My name is Natural and I'm here on behalf of Expert Village to discuss how to survive in prison. In this clip I will be addressing the necessity to know the staff. When it comes to the staff in the institution, they can either be your best friends or your worst enemies. You don't want to antagonize any situations with them that's not necessary. You really don't want to make any unnecessary alliances as well. Those alliance can result in other inmates resenting you, being upset with you or trying to use you when you're friends with an officer, it often becomes something much greater than it is and can cause problems with both the inmate and the staff member. It's very important not to establish inappropriate relationships with the officers because in the end it always comes back to bite you. You can end up doing a lot of solitary confinement or hole time as a result of it and that officer subsequently lose their job as a result of having that inappropriate relationship with you. But more over it is necessary to know who you can trust and who's going to be fair towards you if any drama happens to go down, you do need to have staff members on your team that you can come to that won't preseve you just as an inmate or a prisoner but as a person who deserves the same respect as anyone else."
