"Now we're going to talk about substrate and decor. All we're going to give these little baby tegus is a half log and they'll be able to climb on that and they will be able to go under it. These guys are fairly terrestrialanimals they really don't climb trees much so they just want something they can crawl under and they will hide under there. This is will give to climb on top or over it and we're going to give them a water bowl just is very important so they have fresh water all the time. This is called cypress bedding this is cypress mulch and it's mild and you can give this at your hardware store if you live down south or in you live in New England you can get it from Regal Reptiles. Or you can order it on the internet and this is good stuff it holds the moisture and their toes are to dry they won't shed properly. And if their toes don't shred properly they can actually lose the tips of their toes our big guy here is missing some of his toe nails because he didn't have the correct humidity. That would of been solved by having some of those nice cypress bedding so you can see he's missing 2 of his toe nails. That is from being to dry so it's really important to get the really amount of humidity and the right substrate will take care of that for you."
