Caging Large Tegu Lizard

"Welcome to Regal Reptiles. Now it was great when you bought your baby tegus and you set them up in your little tank, now that he's starting to get big and this is a great big giant tegu. As they get bigger you are going to need special custom and closures. This is called a vision cage you can get these on the internet or you can build stuff yourself. This is appropriate for a tegu for about this size this is a red tegu it's about 2 years old and he's about 2 1/2-3 feet long all together. He can live in this cage now this big giant fellow he has a big cage and it's homemade that he lives in. He's cage is about 4 feet by 4 feet by 2 feet tall so it's pretty big so he can run around and he digs around. You can still use the cypress bedding we're going to give him a water bowl, a little cave to hide in, he has a florescent light in the back and he has a heating pad underneath. We're going to talk a little bit more about the heating items and he has a sliding glass window in the front. The back of the walls are all colored so he can't see out or see a reflection so that works out really well too."
