Caging a Small Tegu Lizard

"Welcome to Regal Reptiles. Now we're going to talk about properly caging your new baby Argentine tegu. We have a baby Argentine red, black and white and these guys can live together, 2 tegus do take up about the same amount of space as one tegu. These guys can start in a 10 gallon tank and that's only going to last you about 5-6 months but this is a good place to start. Cause the smaller tank allows them to find their food to easier so what we're going to do is we're going to have our 10 gallon tank and we're going to add some cypress bedding. Cypress bedding is great bedding it's very absorbent and they can hold humidity and it's very important that these tegus have the correct amount of humidity. So we're going to put this bedding in and every week or so we're actually going to squirt them with a spray bottle so that bedding holds some moisture. Then we're going to put our tegus in and we can put 2 of these in this tank we're going to give them some water and we're going to give them a little cave to hide in. They like a place to hide so they can get away when they need to so they have their little cave and we're going to talk about the proper heating and lighting in a little bit."
