"Hi, welcome to Regal Reptiles. We're going to learn about the tegus natural history. These guys here this is an Argentine giant tegu and they come from Argentina as the name would imply. These guys are scavengers in the wild they absolutely eat anything they can find and they will eat leftover caucuses. If an animal kills another animal and doesn't finish eating it, this guy will come along, these guys are away during the day and they actually moved into the cities and the villages as well. The villages and the cities they will actually go and break into your trash cans just like raccoons would around here and they will take out their leftovers. So if you throw away some chicken these guy will come and eat what's left behind even if it's old and smelly. If you put out food for your dog, these guys will go and eat your dogs food right out of his container. Now we also have tegus that come from Columbia this is a Columbian tegu. We're not going to get into these so much as pets cause they are not as good for a pet as an Argentine tegu. They don't get big which is a nice thing but they are much much more aggressive so we're going to talk mostly about the Argentine giant black and white tegus and also the Argentine red tegus."
