"Alright, welcome to Regal Reptiles. Today we're learning about Sumatran or Malaysian water monitors. And we have some baby specimens. And these guys are born at about eight or nine inches, and then they rapidly grow. These guys are from Sumatra, Malaysia, Asia, and they can fill a niche in the wild where other animals might not be able to survive because they're cold blooded and they make a very efficient use of what's available to them for food. This guy here is about a four year old animal. We're going to learn a little bit more about him. These guys, the species name is Veranda Salvador, and they're scavengers, they'll eat anything they can find. They can easily catch small mammals, they'll eat snakes, they'll eat lizards, they'll eat left overs. If an animal kills something else, doesn't finish it, this guy will come along and eat what's left behind, even if it's starting to get really old and smelly. They've got pretty good bacteria in their mouth, so you really don't want to let one of these guys bite you."
